Photo of a gravel-hauling crew at Linnemann Gravel Pit loading gravel for the construction of Powell Valley Road (now Powell Boulevard). The pit is about 20 feet deep and has a plank driveway to the bottom. There are five carts pulled by two horses each in the pit and 11 men visible, most driving carts or holding shovels. There is a split rail fence surrounding the rim of the gravel pit and trees and shrubs in the background. Group includes Dave Weever at left (possibly foreman or supervisor; not holding a shovel), Edd Sleret in leftmost wagon, Schuyler Jones in first wagon on right, Arnie Ruegg, Allen Shattuck also at right of photo, and the rest unidentified. Graveling the Powell valey (sic) road after uncle Archie Cornutt had blasted stumps and streightened (sic) the road. Jack was about two months old." Names of the individuals in the photo are also written in blue ink on the back. Names (not everyone) are written on the front margin with 1891.
