- Provenance
- Lynch School was a one-room schoolhouse built on land donated by Patrick and Katharine Lynch from their homestead in 1900. It was located northwest of Gresham, at the present-day intersection of 162nd and Division. In 1915, a large addition was made to the Lynch School. This addition served as an auditorium and community meeting space, and a folding wall allowed it to become two classrooms during the school day. In 1927, a new brick building was built to replace the small schoolhouse. This building had five rooms, a gymnasium, and a basement, which contained a cafeteria, storerooms, and bathrooms. The Lynch District was consolidated with the Centennial School District in 1977. Donated by Carol DeWitte Bowles on behalf of Lucile Kummel DeWitte.
