This news snippet has a few different images and descriptions, but they are all highlights from the jamboree. There was a crowning of the queen, Loretta Farmer by the mayor. There was a candid shot of Commodore Lonnie Crampton of the Lowell-Lane boat club and Mrs. Darrell sisters receiving instructions prior to the coronation. There was a boat that was won by Scotty Walter, the Postman. A boat parade took place as well to highlight the recreational values of Dexter Lake.
This announcement is for the “Raise the roof” parade that encourages the public submit an entry if they want to partake in the parade. All entries are to be turned into Mrs. Betty Neet who has put in the work of organizing this parade and bringing it to Lowell. There is a clear description of what streets the parade will be on. The time and date was 9am Saturday, August 26.
